The villa is located at the south side of a hill. The facade of the house is in wood whereas ground floor and many inner walls are in stone.
In the summer the stone helps keeping the house cool and balances temperatures.
This summer 2018 has been exeptionally warm with temperatures above 30 degrees celsius during long periods. Eventhough there is no cooling airconditioning system in the house but only a ventilation system, the house was fairly cool and comfortable all summer. In addition to the ground floor and inner walls of stone, contributing factors to the good inner climate we believe are the leafy trees around the house. In summer they give a bit of shadow and shelter whereas in the cold period the leaves have fallen and do not shadow the sun.
The garden around the house is partially in the slope with terrasses with supporting walls in stone.
The house is kept warm and warm water is taken care of by a heat pump system with floor heating. The ventilation system includes energy reuse. All in all the house is very energy efficient
